Ein Wochenende voll Liebe - das war Blogst 2012

Wow! Was für ein tolles Wochenende habe ich da hinter mir. Ich muss sagen, dass ich vorher schon etwas nervös war, denn ich wusste nicht was auf so einer Konferenz auf mich zu kommt. Die erste Veranstaltung bei der ich nicht einfach nur als Tine unterwegs war, nein ich hatte ein Namensschild, das mich als Vertreterin meines Arbeitgebers ausgab. Da muss man sich schon eher Gedanken machen, was man sagt und wie man sich verhält.

Wow, what an amazing weekend was that? I have to say that I was a bit nervous beforehand, because I didn't know what to expect from such a kind of conference. The first event, where I wasn't only attending as the private Tine but no, I had a nametag that showed where I am working. You defintely have to watch out what you say and do then.

Morgens machte ich mich auf den Weg nach Altona und schon in der Nähe des Werkheims traf ich auf ein paar andere Blogger, denen ich mich gleich anschloss. Zusammen fanden wir dann auch das Werkheim und bald darauf wurde die Konferenz auch schon von Clara und Ricarda eröffnet. Die beiden haben wirklich eine Menge Arbeit und Blogliebe in die Veranstaltung gesteckt und eine tolle Auswahl an Referenten eingeladen.
Die Keynote sprachen dann gleich die bezaubernden Schwestern Toni und Thea vom Sister Magazine, mit denen ich durch die Arbeit auch schon in Kontakt stand. Immer wieder schön, wenn man feststellt, dass einem die Menschen genauso sympathisch sind, wie im virtuellen Raum. Im Vortrag ging es darum, ob Blogs eher eine virtuelle Belanglosigkeit oder ein Medium mit Potenzial sind. Die Antwort war klar, belanglos sind Blogs schon lange nicht mehr, was sich auch in immer mehr Koopeartionen zwischen Firmen und Bloggern ausdrückt. Dieses Statement kann ich nur unterstützen, denn bei der Arbeit habe ich beinahe täglich mit Bloggern zu tun und bemühe mich Kooperationen und ähnliches aufzubauen.

In the morning I made my way to Altona and on the way I already met the first bloggers who were also attending the conference in the Werkheim. Together with them I found the location and soon the conference was opened by Clara and Ricarda. Both of them have organised the event with a lot of work and bloglovin and they invited a superb selection of speakers. The keynote was delivered by the lovely sisters Toni and Thea of Sister Magazine, with whom I was already in contact via work. It's always nice to see, if you experience that the people are as nice as you imagined by the only virtual contact. The keynote was a discussion if blogs are only a virtual pettiness or a type of media with potential. The answer was sure, irrelevant are blogs not anymore, what is alreday shown by more and more cooperations of companies and bloggers. I can only support that statement, because at work I almost daily work with bloggers and try to organise cooperations and something near it.

Bloggen als Beruf war der nächste Beitrag von Anna Frost, eine Modebloggerin die den Schritt von einer Ich-knipse-mein-Outfit-in-einem-schmierigen-Spiegel zu einer anerkannten Modeexpertin schaffte. Auch wenn ich persönlich viele Modeblogs lese, konnte ich doch nicht recht mit dem Vortrag warm werden. Vielleicht bin ich da aber auch einfach nur etwas vorbelastet, weil ich selber ein Studium im Bereich Textil- und Bekleidung absolviert habe und mir generell nur wenig deutsche Modeblogs wirklich gut gefallen. Ich werde aber mit Sicherheit mich mit den deutschen Modeblogs nun etwas mehr befassen und vielleicht springt dann der Funke ja doch noch über.

Blogging as ajob was the next speach by Anna Frost, a fashion blogger who did the step from shooting her outfit pictures in a dirty mirror to an acknowleged fashion expert. Even when I personally read lots of fashion blogs, I couldn't quite get into the talk. Generally I don't read that many German fashion blogs, because I rarely like the styling. But I'll definitely start to look more deeply into the German scene and maybe the sprak will transmit.I'm pretty sure this is not the write wording, but I'm just realizing that I need to work on my vocabulary asap.

Nach einer Kaffeepause die zum intensiven Netzwerken genutzt wurde - und einige Cakepops von Zalando genascht wurden- ging es dann mit einem Vortrag von Anna Neumann, der Social Media Managerin von Dawanda, weiter. Sie zeigte verschiedene DIY-Blogger und bestätigte einige meiner Thesen über die amerikanische und deutsche Do it Yourself Szene. Schön zu sehen, dass auch Anna zum Beispiel Constanze von Nahtzugabe als Beispiel aufführte.

After a coffee break, which was used for intensive networking - and munching some cake pops by Zalando - the conference continued with a talk by Anna Neumann, the social media manager of Dawanda, which is the German equivalent to Etsy. She talked about different DIY-bloggers and supported some of my thoughts about the American and German DIY-scene. It was nice to see, that Anna talked about some bloggers that we already presented in our companies blog.

Ein Beitrag von Jeanny zeigte dann auf unterhaltsame Art was es mit dem Thema Branding auf sich hat und wie dieses Thema auch für jeden Blogger wichtig ist, wenn er einen professionellen Blog führen möchte. Einige Tipps werde ich sicherlich in der nächsten Zeit auch auf diesem Blog anwenden.
Nachmittags ging es dann noch mit einem Workshop weiter. Frau Haselmeyer erklärte einer kleinen Gruppe die Feinheiten von Blogger und nur leider war die Zeit viel zu kurz um alle Fragen zu klären. Einige wichtige Tipps zu Links und Bildgrößen konnte ich aber mitnehmen und ein Redesign des Blogs ist auf jeden Fall auf meiner Agenda.

A contribution by Jeanny showed in a very entertaining manner, which importance the topic branding has on a blog and how everybody who wants to write a professional blog should think about herself as a brand. Some of her ideas I will definitely try to apply on this blog - and get myself some literature on that topic.
In the afternoon the day continued with a workshop. Frau Haselmeyer explained a small group something about Blogger and unfortunately the time was just to short to explain everything in detail. Some important tricks about links and the size of pictures were talked about and I already started to implement it on my blog.

Der Vortrag von den beiden PR-Mädels von Edelman und ein erhellender Vortrag von Christian Solmecke über das Thema Recht für Blogger rundete den ersten Konferenztag ab.
Aber der Tag war noch nicht zu Ende und nachdem wir uns mit leckeren Burgern von elli kocht gestärkt hatten, gab es noch viele weitere interessante Gespräche bis ich dann spät abends wieder nach Hause fuhr. Vollgepackt mit dem Goodiebag und der Brita-Tüte erntete ich dann einige komische Blicke in der S-Bahn und fuhr beseelt und mit vielen neuen Ideen heim. Mein Kopf war, wie Anna es in der Zeichnung so schön zeigt, wie verrückt am Arbeiten und ich brauchte eine Weile bis ich den Tag abschließen konnte.
Und weil dieser Beitrag nun sowieso schon viel zu lang und textlastig ist, werde ich die Ereignisse des zweiten Tages dann demnächst veröffentlichen.

A speech by two pr-professionals from the agency Edelman and an illustrative talk by Christian Solmecke finished the first day of the conference. But the day wasn't over yet and after beefing up on some delicious burgers by Elli kocht there were lots of interesting conversations until I went back home late in the evening. Packed with goodie bag and the Brita bag I caused some stares in the S-Bahn and came home with lots of ideas on my mind. My head was, as Anna shows on the drawing, working like crazy and it took a while until I could close the day.
An since this post is already quite long and too much text, I'll write about the events of the second day in a new post, which I will publish soon.

Eine Liste von Blogbeiträgen über die Blogst Konferenz 2012 findet ihr bei Nic. Und wer nun auch Lust auf solch eine Konferenz bekommen hat, dem sei gesagt - es gibt schon Planungen für 2013. Dann heißt es allerdings wieder schnell sein, denn die Karten für 2012 waren nach drei Wochen ausverkauft.

A list of blog posts about the conference can be found on the blog of Nic ( unfortunately all in German). And whoever would like to attend such a conference himself - there are plans for 2013. But than it is important to be quick again, because for this event the tickets were sold out after three weeks. A similar event is The Hive, an event in Berlin which is held in English.
