Berlin, du bist so wunderbar!

Vor einiger Zeit habe ich angekündigt, dass ich dieses Wochenende nach Berlin fahren werde. Leider habe ich den Post versehentlich gelöscht, aber in meiner Sidebar könnt ihr immer noch die Ankündigung vom großen Nähbloggertreffen in Berlin sehen. Diese Veranstaltung wurde von Catherine und Constanze organisiert. Ich bin sicher, es waren auch noch weitere helfende Hände dabei, aber die beiden habe ich als Organisatorinnen im Kopf. Das ganze Wochenende stand im Namen des Nähens und schon Freitag traf sich eine Runde zum gemeinsamen Stoff-Kauf auf dem Markt am Maybachufer. Da ich bei einer Freundin übernachtet habe, besuchte ich nur die letzte Veranstaltung des Wochenendes, das große Treffen im Manyfold. Das Manyfold ist ein Creativ Space in Kreuzberg und eine wunderbare inspirierende Location, besonders gefiel mir die farbenfrohe Anordnung der Sticktwiste. So etwas könnte ich mir auch schön für meine Nähecke vorstellen, Garn habe ich genug!

Some time ago I announced that I would travel to Berlin this weekend. Unfortunately I deleted the post, but you can still see the announcement of the meet-up of sewing bloggers in my sidebar. The event was organised by Catherine and Constanze. I'm sure there are many other people who helped, but these two did most of the work I think. The whole weekend was dedicated to sewing and already on Friday  a group met to explore the market at Maybachufer. Since I stayed with a friend, I only visited the last event of the weekend the blogger meet-up at the Manyfold. The Manyfold is a Creatv Space in Kreuzberg and a very inspiring location. I especially loved the wall with lots of embroidery yarn floss. I could imagine recreating that for my little sewing corner, I have plenty of yarn!

Ich war pünktlich gegen 11 Uhr dort und schon auf dem Weg entdeckte ich das erste bekannte Gesicht nämlich Taylor Maid mit Begleitung. Wie sich herausstellte, war das Couturette, die ich von einem lustigen Blogeintrag über meinen Arbeitgeber kannte. Schnell kamen wir ins Gespräch und die kuschelige Atmosphäre des Cafés ermöglichte viele nette Gespräch. Es war schön die Gesichter hinter den Blogs kennezulernen und einige Kontakte aus der digitalen Welt in das reale Leben zu transportieren. Fast jeder hatte etwas Selbstgenähtes an und als die Damen sich für das kleine Mantelfinale zusammenfanden, war ich begeistert von der unterschiedlichen Interpretation jeder einzelnen Dame. Ein Mantel steht auch immer noch auf der Liste an Projekten, die ich mal nähen möchte. Es fehlt momentan nur die Zeit sich länger als eine halbe Stunde an die Maschine zu setzen. Mal sehen, vielleicht beherzige ich aber Tillys Vorschlag und fange an mir täglich 15 Minuten für kreatives Arbeiten einzuräumen.
Fotos von der Veranstaltung habe ich natürlich nicht gemacht, denn ich hatte meine Kamera nicht mitgenommen und war viel zu viel mit Quatschen beschäftigt. Vielleicht finde ich noch ein paar Bilder in anderen Blogs, dann werde ich das hier verlinken.

I arrived on time at 11 and on the way I already saw the first familiar face, which was Taylor Maid with a friend. How I later learned was the friend Couturette who I knew from work. Soon everybody was getting into conversation and the cosy atmosphere of the café made it easy to get to know each other. It was very nice to see the faces behind the blogs and transport some contacts from the digital world into the real world. Almost everybody wore something selfmade and when the ladies gathered for the small coat finale I was amazed by the different interpretations of everybody. A coat is still on the list of things I want to sew. Right now I'm only missing the time to sit on the sewing machine for more than half an hour. But maybe I'll consider Tillys' proposition and start to determine 15 minutes of the day to creative work.
Of course I didn't take any pictures because I left my camera at home and was too busy talking. Maybe I'll find some pictures on other blogs and then I will link to them.

Mein Outfit für den Tag war eine Kombination aus Selbstgenähtem und kurz zuvor Erworbenem. Die Hose ist meine bequeme Skinnycordhose in 7/8 Länge und der Pulli ein Schnäppchen aus dem Humana-Shop am Alex. Der Laden hat eine super Auswahl und wäre ich nicht mit kleinem Gepäck gereist, wären sicherlich noch mehr Kleidungsstücke mitgekommen. In Hamburg kenne ich bisher nur den kleinen Humana in Altona, es gibt aber wohl noch einen anderen - das kommt gleich auf meine To-See-Liste.

My outfit of the day was a combination of a selfmade garment and thrifted. The pants are my comfortable skinny cropped corduroy pants and the sweater a bargain from the Humana shop at Alexanderplatz. The store has a great selection and if I wouldn't have travelled with light luggage I would have definitely gone crazy there. I only know a small Humana in Hamburg, the store in Altona, but there seem to be two other ones - I'll note that on my To-See-List.

Neben dem Bloggetreffen war ich noch auf einem Konzert, erklärte meiner Freundin ihre neue Nähmaschine und besuchte eine tolle Fotoausstellung im c|o Berlin. Außerdem streifte ich einen Vormittag durch die Schlossstrasse in Steglitz, wo sich Einkaufscenter an Einkaufscenter reiht und ich sogar einen kurzen Abstecher zu Primark machte, nur um mir die Qualität und Preise dort anzugucken.
Hier sind noch ein paar Outfits vom Wochenende, jedes Outfit mit mindestens einem selbstgenähten Teil.

Next to the blogger meet-up I also visited a concert, explained her new sewing machine to my friend and visited a great photography show at the c|o Berlin. I also did some shopping at the Schlossstraße in Steglitz where there is shopping center next to shopping center and I even had a quick look at Primark to check their quality and price level.
Here are some outfits that I wore during the weekend, all consisting of at least a handmade garment.

 Die Jacke war ein Schnäppchen von Humana. Ich kaufte sie bei meinem letzten Aufenthalt in Berlin.
The jacket is a bargain from Humana as well. I bought it on my last trip to Berlin.

 Das Oberteile sollte eigentlich ein Kleid werden, aber weil der Stoff nicht reichte ist es eher ein Oberteil.
The top was meant to be a dress but because I didn't have enough fabric it's more of a top.

 Bitte entschuldigt den Knitterlook, aber dieses Leinentop ist nach einem Tag im Rucksack natürlich etwas zerknautscht, sieht aber trotzdem gut aus. 

Please excuse the wrinkles, but after one day in a backpack the top looks a bit messy.

 

Den Hut kaufte ich im Oxfamshop und die Tasche brachte etwas Hamburg nach Berlin. 

I bought the hat in an Oxfam shop and the bag brought a little bit of Hamburg to Berlin.

 

Der Pulli ist auch ein neuerworbenes Schnäppchen von Humana und hat ein wunderbares Burgunder-Rot. Der Rock ist aus einem Stoff von Zanderino hier gibt's einen ähnlichen. 

The sweater is one of my finds at Humana and has a lovely deep burgundy red. The skirt is made of a fabric from Zanderino.
